Tiny Black And Brown Carpet Beetle
A fully grown adult black carpet beetle appears to be shiny reddish black in color with brown colored legs.
Tiny black and brown carpet beetle. These small black bugs have short oval body and short inconspicuous antennae on their head. Carpet beetles are covered in tiny hairs which are difficult to see unless you look at them under magnification. The adults are small 1 16 to 1 8 inch oval shaped beetles ranging in color from black to various mottled patterns of white brown yellow and orange. Carpet beetles measure just 1 16 to 1 8 inches long about the size of a pinhead and vary in color.
The furniture and varied carpet beetles also bear unique coloured scales specific to the type. They measure up to 0 1 3 mm in length. The larvae are carrot shaped and long with a golden or brownish appearance. Like many other beetles they are round or oval and convex like ladybugs.
They vary in size from 1 8 th to 3 16 th of an inch in length. Others might be mottled with spots of brown and black on a lighter background. Eggs are pearly white in color and small. Carpet beetles in general are oval in shape and appear dark brown to black in colour.
Most adult carpet beetles range from 2 mm to 5 mm in length with very short clubbed antennae and chewing mouthparts. Carpet beetles are tiny black beetles that can be found in the house. Slow moving tiny black beetles that crawl or fly around homes.
